Another benefit is that you can set up your own work area.
There is a map where you can circle your preferred area of work. If there are certain areas that you don’t want to work in, you don’t have to select them.
This is nice because it gives you even more control over your business.
3. Lots of diverse types of tasks
TaskRabbit has over 50 different types of tasks you can do.
Some of the most popular tasks are furniture/IKEA assembly, general cleaning, helping to move, and closet organization. I have had lots of success with IKEA furniture assembly and organization.
Most of the organization tasks I have done were clothing with some kitchens and bathrooms. If you’re good at and enjoy organizing things, then you would have a lot of success in this category.
For the furniture tasks, you should have good knowledge of how to use tools and put together IKEA furniture. These tasks can charge more money than organizing tasks, but they are more strenuous.

With TaskRabbit, you have total control over what tasks you do and how you present your business.
For each task that you offer you can add a description of your services and even add portfolio photos if that makes sense for the task.

The payment process for TaskRabbit is very easy.
After a task and you submit the invoice, the client then pays for the task, and it is disbursed to you. You will most likely see the payment in your bank account from a task within one week.
There are no waiting two weeks to get a paycheck and it is all direct deposit.
How to Become a Tasker
Getting started on TaskRabbit is a very easy process.
All you have to do is create a tasker profile and select the skills you want to add to your business.
Other information they would ask for is car information if you added the delivery task to your profile. They also have a $25 registration fee, but you make that money back in no time at all.
After the background check and you set up your skills, work area, and availability you are ready to get hired.
What to Do When You Are Hired
If you are hired for a task it will show up under current tasks in the app. From there you can view that task and chat with the client before you accept it.
The app won’t allow you to confirm the tasks unless you have chatted with the client first. This is so you can get all your questions answered and have a better understanding of what you agree to.
Before accepting, the task overview will give you the date and preferred start time, a brief description, the estimated length of the task, the client’s name, your rate, and the general location.
After chatting with the client, you can either accept or forfeit the task.
If you choose to forfeit, you will be asked to give a reason and some reasons could hurt your metrics so be careful not to forfeit too many tasks. This can be avoided by being very specific in the description of your skill.
If you choose to accept the task, then you will be given the chance to schedule it. This can be changed at any time if agreed upon by the client.
After you schedule the start time it will ask you the estimated time to complete the task. This is just so that TaskRabbit can help you schedule other tasks with some buffer time in between.
And that’s it, you are now hired for the task!
If any questions or conflicts come up, you can easily chat with the client in the app.
What to Do After a Task
Once you complete a task you have to create an invoice in the app.
There will be a button that says “create invoice”. You then put in how many hours you worked and any expenses that you might have encountered.
If the task is ongoing, then you can check that before submitting the invoice. This keeps the same task open and ready to reschedule for the next time.
After filling out the invoice and submitting it you don’t have to do anything else, and the money will be sent right to the account you have connected. It’s that easy.
